On Monday, September 29, IDOT plans to close the southern intersection of Willow Road and Happ Road to install the utility and roadway improvements. This closure will only take place once the Northfield Road intersection has been re-opened. The Happ Road intersection is expected to be closed for three weeks and is tentatively set to re-open on Saturday, October 18. Local traffic will be detoured west to Northfield Road.

During the detour period the Village will:
- Monitor the intersections, and will request signal timing adjustments, if needed, to minimize traffic backups
- Provide special Police patrols on local streets to reduce speeding and cut through traffic
- Ensure emergency response routes are maintained to all parts of the community for police, fire and ambulance access
Detailed construction work and current traffic conditions can be tracked at http://northfieldwillowroad.blogspot.com/ , through Facebook on the Willow Road Construction Project page, or through Twitter @willowroadcp. Please note that the actual start dates and activities may change due to weather or other conflicts. #willowroadcp
